Dance

So we got a dance studio in our little town!! So exciting! Because it was close I was actually able to sign the girls up. They have been LOVING their lessons. The first recital is at the end of December. Unfortinetly it's on a Sunday, so my girls won't be there. They did let us come to class and video the dances so they can practice at home, so here are the girls dances!

Kaitlyn's 6!!!

So Kaitlyn's 6 now!!! She has grown so much this year. She LOVES kindergarten and is such a big help around the house, unless it's time to clean up ;)

Saturday, just before her birthday I got a Groupon to Old Navy! So Kaitlyn and I had a mommy daughter date for her birthday! So fun! We went and got some hot chocolate in town and then drove to Dubuque to go shopping. Just the two of us. One thing all us Dalton girls like is shopping! So she got to get a whole new outfit for her birthday! If I had bought everything for full price, it would have cost $101.49! Because I shopped clearance and sales AND I had two Groupons the total money I spent was... $27.48!!! AWESOME! Now that's a good deal! Plus some quality time with the birthday girl. :)

Sunday, her actual birthday I had a little bit of an emotional pregnant melt down. Luckily Ryan was there to talk me out of it, and everything turned out well. (I was upset because I didn't plan a party for Kaitlyn and was feeling like a terrible, neglectful mother...) I got over it and made a pretty cute cake and we had a wonderful evening with just the family. I truly have an amazing husband! He pulled together a very fun evening for Kaitlyn, and the best part was his gift to her. I never would have thought of this and it TOTALLY made the night. You might just have to watch the video, even though it's a litle long :)

Happy 6th Birthday Kaitlyn!!!

Ryan made birthday hats with the kids :)

And Grandma Dalton, this one is for you! Here's Kaitlyn opening the pressents from you.

Thank you. She loved them!

Thanksgiving!

This year we were so blessed to have Grandma and Grandpa Dalton come here! So fun! We love it when family can make it up here.

Lots and lots of baking and cooking ensued. Evan couldn't wait to get started and was almost done by the time everyone else got to eat! :)

Dinner!

Dessert (because of pinterest I MAY have made to many deserts :)

It's ok, I don't think the kids minded!

And since Grandma and Grandpa were here, the kids got spoiled and LOVED it! Mom D bought them all new chairs, so fun!

Thanks so much for coming to visit us! I wish I had gotten more pictures. We had a blast!

Random

Bath time! The kids LOVE it when I let them have a bubble bath!

So one of the favorite toys around here is the couch cushions. Crazy kids :) They love to make houses with them and towers. Here's a couple "mom take our picture!" moments from that.

Helping mom peel potatoes! All three kids wanted SO BADLY to learn how! I was pretty nervous, but they did very well!

Night of Excellence

I'm in the Young Womens now, and I LOVE it! This month is a big month because we are having our Night of Excellence! I have never been in charge of one, so I was stressing big time! Night of Excellence is a night to say how awesome the girls are and let them show off some of the things they've been working on through out the year. And I get to participate too. :) So I have been wanting to learn how to make a ruffle for forever, but have been to chicken to try. So I decided to make it one of my projects for Night of Excellence. I decided to redo a shirt I already had. I had tons of how-to's saved online so I kinda combined a few. Since I'd never even made a ruffle before I used different material to try it out on, to see if I could even do it! Haha, well have you ever read the book If you give a mouse a cookie? That's how it went that night! I made the ruffle and decided it was so cute I had to do something with it, so I decided to make it into a flower, well that was so cute I had to do something with it, so I turned it into a headband! I never did start the t shirt that night. lol. But that's ok! So another night I got out the two old shirts that I no longer wore or liked. I cut one up into strips and made LOTS of ruffles and then sewed them onto the other shirt! Here's how they both turned out. (I'm pretty proud of myself! :))

The girls with the flower headband I made

My new shirt and a preggo me! (too bad I don't have a before! It was just plain with nothing on it)

So I did LOTS of art projects this month to get ready! The other thing we were doing for Night of Excellence was a scripture hero journal! I found it online HERE
Each girl chose a hero from the Bible or Book of Mormon and did a two week study on her. It was really awesome and I'm so glad that we did it! So I wanted to present the girls with something for finishing this project and to help them remember the things they learned, so here's what I made!

Here are some pictures from that night. (Each girl set up a table all about her)

Halloween!

Putting up window clings grandma sent

One night after the girls were asleep I went to check on the girls and this is how I found them! Too cute!

*That's Emmy curled up in the tiniest ball in the corner of Kaitlyn's bed. Haha.

The kids playing tic tac toe on Dad's IPOD

Pumpkin carving!

On the night of Halloween, it was pretty cold! The kids had fun trick or treating and we even got to bring a neighbor boy with us! (His mom had just had a newborn, so I was glad to take him so he got to go!)

One of the neighbors had cotton candy!

Trying to warm up once we got home!

Conked out!

Glow in the dark vampire teeth!

**Logan flat out REFUSED to wear any kind of costume! He wouldn't even carry the cool new gun I got him and be a sniper. Oh well! (Probably the only time I'll ever find myself begging a little boy to carry a gun and saying won't it be cool to go up and down the street shooting people!? So bad!)
