At the beginning of April I went to Time Out For Women. It was WONDERFUL. I got to get out, with out kids!, for all day Friday and Saturday. It was a much needed vacation and time to recharge spiritually and physically. I have to say that I do feel like I've been able to be a better mom because I took some time out for me. Case in point, I took the boys to Dubuque to go shopping with me. I was pretty excited because it was just me and the boys. This was the FIRST time this has happened!! Sad I know, but if I get out with only a few, it's usually the girls. Anyways, I was at Target (by the way I was SUPPER excited to get a chance to go, it'd been FOREVER, there's not one close by!) and Logan started acting up. This was the Monday right after I got back. It was so interesting because I was laughing to myself at how funny he was, all the while knowing that normally I would be sooo frustrated. I thought, I wonder is this how grandparents feel? I'll see my kids being naughty with their grandparents and they don't get so frustrated. It was really interesting. I did end up having to leave, sigh, Log's just couldn't pull it together, but I wasn't worked up about it. It was nice. Coarse the next day I was in Piggly Wiggly and Evan was screaming his head off and I didn't handle that as well. There's just something about a baby cry that I can't handle. Probably the nonstop-ness of it.
So I had a WONDERFUL weekend, but that left poor, sweet Ryan home alone all weekend with the crazies. It actually went really well, but they were all VERY happy to have Mommy come home! Ryan took the kids to the park and got a cute video.
And of coarse a McDonald's trip. :) I'm pretty proud of Ryan. I didn't preplan/cook any meals. He did it all, all by himself. I'm very blessed to have him!
