Jayden Marshal Dalton

Baby Jayden is here!

Julia and the boys came over and the kids had so much fun playing.  They made these silly videos. The best is when Cooper knocked his horse over.  We all got a kick out of that one, lol.

I had been having contractions all day, but I was soo nervous that I didn't want to go to the hospital.  It didn't help that a few weeks before I thought I was in labor and they sent me home.  I just could not handle if that happened again! Finally I called the doctors office and they said to come on in.  Julia, Ryan, and Tiara had to practically kick me out of the house.  Haha.  Once we got into the hospital they had me sit down in the waiting area and then after a while they took us back to financial.  Both Ryan and I were like what? Shouldn't we go to L&D? Once the lady in the back realized what was going on she was like, take them upstairs!  Haha. I think the poor girl was new.  Also I'm a very calm laborer, so even when the labors intense, I'm not obviously in labor.  If we get that far there's only about a 1/2 maybe an hour left :)
On the way upstairs we took this picture

40 weeks and one day and this baby is finally on the way. Should be here today :)  2:55pm

Ryan and I got settled into our room.  There was something wrong with the computer in my room so two nurses spent a huge amount of time messing with that and I was "strapped into" the bed.  I wasn't actually tied down, but they had the monitors on me and I was just laying there and not able to get up and move around.  With Evan and Brayden I had natural births but hadn't 100% decided what I wanted to do this time.  In my Lancaster hospital I was able to walk around and labor in the tub.  Not so much here.  I think if I'd had been more sure of what I wanted and more vocal this part would have gone a lot better.  As it was I started stressing and with nothing to take my mind off of it I decided to just get the epidural.  Also my doctor was in California and not available so the on call doctor came in and meet me and broke my water.  I had met her once before and while she was a capable doctor I wasn't super impressed with her.  But she came in and broke my water so I was happy for that. This birth was different in that I had talked with my sisters and they wanted to come to the birth.  Ryan and I talked about it and were both fine with it, so we invited them to come if they wanted.  Julia and Tiara were close by so they came a little bit before Jayden was born.  Once I was dilated the nurse came into tell me that the oncall Doctor had two of us at a ten at the same time and was I willing to wait.  Well since I had the epidural I didn't mind so we waited a bit longer. (not that they gave me much of a choice) A little bit later someone I hadn't met came in and introduced herself.  She is a midwife at the practice I went to and wanted to know if I would mind if she delivered me.  Seeing as I didn't know the other Doc, I was just fine with her. Well, I'm SO glad she came!  I really liked her. I wish I had seen her the whole time!  She loved that my sisters were there and she got Tiara (12 and wants to be a Doctor when she grows up) all suited up and had her deliver Jayden! It was soo cool.  I was waiting the whole time for Tiara to freak out or faint or even make a grossed out face, but she didn't.  She was right there in the middle of the action and loved every second of it.  Seriously it was so cool. I'm so glad both Julia and Tiara got to come.  Julia is about to start her last semester of nursing school and it was cool to see her know what the nurses were talking about.  So neat.  Jess was at dance and missed it by like 5 minutes.  So sad. So Jayden was born and he was the largest baby by far and I didn't even tear a little. No stitches were needed at all.  I really liked this midwife! I only pushed small pushes and only like 2 or 3 times. Probably because I sat at a 10 waiting for the other doctor so Jayden was very ready to come out!  Jayden Marshal Dalton was born at 5:44 weighing 9lbs 13oz and 21inches. He's a big baby! I thought Logan was big and he was just shy of 9lbs. Here's some pictures of Jayden being delivered by his Aunt Tiara!

WARNING: some of the pictures are gross. So you have been forewarned :)

Getting her gown on. There almost wasn't enough time, they had to really hurry!

Baby Jayden's here!

I didn't see this part, but she had Tiara hold my placenta. Ha, I've had 6 kids and this is the first time I even saw it.  Crazy girl loved it!

Unfortunetly RIGHT when the kids got there to meet baby Jayden they had just put him in a warmer because he needed to warm up. So the kids were so excited to see him, but they couldn't hold him for a little while.  Here they are checking him out for the first time.

They got him warmed up and moved us to the recovery room and then the kids got to hold baby Jayden!!

It's safe to say this baby is very loved!  We're so happy he's finally here!  And a huge Thanks to Uncle Jace for watching my and Julia's kids so that Ryan, Julia, and Tiara could be at the hospital with me.  He got to come up and see baby Jayden with Dad that night too, but I didn't get any pictures.

June 1-11 2014

6-2-14
The boys have been doing this all morning and I just thought it was so cute.  When Daddy came downstairs they just had to show him :)

Today at lunch I gave the boys their bowls and one for me. Brayden pointed to mine and said for Mom.
Me: is this bowl for mom?
B: no, for baby!
M: for the baby? (Patting my tummy)
B: Yes!!
So cute!! We're all excited to meet the new baby. Hopefully soon!!

And on Sunday Logan was turned around in sacrament meeting trying to talk to his friend a few pews away. I turned him around and he says to me but mom I'm talking to my friend. I'm using Hand English.
Haha, I had to turn away to hide my smile. I love these kids of mine!!

We had so much fun on Saturday for our date night karaoke that we decided to do it for FHE.  The kids had a BLAST!!

Ryan's FB post
This is the benefit of having many children in our family. This little three year old jewel correctly put all of the clothes in one hamper away and was about to work on the other one without us knowing. He learned that by watching Mommy and Daddy and his three older siblings. I have no doubt he will carry that same attitude of service into adulthood.
He's such a big helper!

Evans not feeling well today and Ryan watched the kids while I went to the OB(39weeks). Came home to this sweetness. Love my boys!!
Logan and Mrs Nance. Love her!! Last day of kindergarten, they sang us some songs. It was adorable!
Those of you who've known Logan for a few years will know what a huge deal this is. 3 kids out of each class had short speaking parts. Logan was chosen. He is so clear! You can understand him perfectly! So proud of my Logan!!

More from their short program. I know I'm probably the only one who'll watch these, but they were so adorable.  Love my kindergartner Logan!
Logan is on the first row in a dark blue shirt with the white circle towards the center, just to the left of the man in the blue's head. Hope that makes sense!

6/6/14
Ryan took Logan and the kids to Grandma D's and he played so hard he needed a nap.  He crashed on the floor in Grandma's room.  Funny boy.

Today is my due date. This is the longest I've ever been pregnant. Here's to hoping Jayden makes his day-beau today or tomorrow!
Em took these while I was waiting for it to be time to go to my 40 week appointment. I was not happy to STILL be pregnant and very nervous for the upcoming delivery.

So my 40 week appointment did NOT go how I'd hoped.  I was sad, mad, depressed, stressed, frustrated, and oh so angry when I came home.  Let me start out by saying I was pregnant, so supper emotional anyway. Well I'm 40 weeks. DUE. So I figured I could talk with the dr. and set a time to be induced, you know becuase I was due!
Well lets backup a second.  Ryan has been home job searching for the last 6 weeks.  It's been WONDERFUL to have him home, but also super stressful as we try to figure out how to pay for everything. Plus I'm about to have a baby. Plus the stress of job hunting. So we were blessed to have a job offered to Ryan! But he also had a very promising interview the next couple days and the offer was very low.  So we were praying and counseling together and praying some more to find out what was best for our family also, I'm about to have a baby any minute! And our ward (church congregation) got split.  Which meant that we were going to be meeting with new people.  Sunday was our first week in the new ward.  I was glad to be able to go so that the kids could meet their new teachers and kids in their classes BEFORE I had the baby. But really it felt like we moved the week before having a baby.  All new faces again.  So hard. But still it was good.  It's so wonderful the gospel is growing so quickly here and that we are meeting more people.  I love meeting new people. It's just sooo much change all at once. So, YAY we accepted the job offer!  Ryan has a job! Which he starts monday, in downtown Dallas. An hour and twenty minutes away.  And it's my due date today.  I'm 40 weeks and it's the Wednesday before Ryan starts a new job.  So since it's a new job he's not going to be taking time off to stay home with me. Talk about stressful!!  This baby HAS to come this week or Ryan might not be there. So I have all this going on and I go to my 40 week appointment and my doctor informs that she WON'T induce me!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!  But she'll set an appointment for induction Monday morning. Supper helpful. (eye roll) So it's perfectly healthy to go overdue up to two weeks, so there's no rush. Also, it's perfectly healthy, but since your overdue you need to check into the hospital this weekend for a stress test and ultrasound. But its perfectly healthy to go longer, so I wont induce you. But don't forget to set your appointment, it's really importnt. Ugghh, she finally consented to strip my membranes, but left me with the impression that it wouldn't really do anything. And she'd see me sometime next week.  I went home and cried. I was so frustrated and angry!
I did everything I could think of to get labor started on my own.  Luckily I went into labor the next day.  Oh and I was also not wanting to wait until Friday because it would be Frday the 13th.  Haha, I know it doesn't really matter, but I just wanted to have the baby Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday. I am so glad he came on Thursday and I didn't have to wait longer.  I prayed so hard Wednesday night and just poured my heart out to God. I'm so glad I have a Heavenly Father that understands me and loves me, even if sometimes the answer is no. Happily this time the answer was yes :)

May 2014

5-1-14
Aunt Mindy gave us her queen bed room set!  So nice!  The dresser went to Kaitlyn, Emmy got Kaitlyn's and now the baby will have what Em's was using.  Wonderful!  The babies get to share the new bed.  It is the CUTEST thing to see these two cuties cuddled up at night.  They love their new bed!

5/2/14
Brayden wants Aunt Julia :)

After school we had a dance a thon :)

5/3/14
Daddy getting some lovins from Brayden

5/5/14
Today we had our usual first Sunday of the month dinner at Grammy Wilson's house and we got to celebrate both Andrew's wife Cloe's birthday AND Jace's soon to be wife Kalisha.  Kurtis is going to have to marry a Texan with a "k" name and a May birthday. Love having all the family get together all the time! So wonderful!!

5/9/14
This morning I got to go to the cutest readers theater and mothers day breakfast Emily's class put on.  It was so sweet and I loved it! Later that afternoon Ryan took all 3 boys to the father's and son's camping trip! They had a wonderful time.  Here they are getting ready to go! The boys are soooo excited!

Julia took the girls to her ward camp out. I got to have a sleepover just me and my mom! It was heavenly! AND Mom and I got to go see Jace propose to Kalisha!!!!!  SOO awesome.  We went to the beautiful spot Jace took Kalisha on their first date and waited for them to show up. Once they were there we hid and waited and tried to take pictures for Jace when he proposed.  They were SO cute!  She didn't know that it was the night he was going to ask her and was so suprised and happy.  I love how in love they are!  So cute! Both Jace and especially Kalisha couldn't stop smiling.  I love that Jace let us be apart of his special moment!  So unfortunately my phone was being super lame and took HORRIBLE pictures. Usually it takes great ones. Not sure what happened.  These are the ones I got while he was proposing.

So sad they didn't turn out!  Afterwards Jace said come out and we got to go congratulate them! And I got a supper cute picture on Jace's phone.

Then we realized Jace forgot to put the ring on her finger so we got pictures of that.  Seriously I love these two!  Sooo adorable!!

The cool thing about this place is it's a small amphitheater so she got to hear herself say yes :)

After that Mom and I had a sleepover! It was wonderful! It's pretty rare that I get my Mom to myself and I LOVED it! Saturday the girls came home (they had a BLAST!) and Ryan and the boys came home (he was exhausted! but they also had a great time!) and we went swimming as a family.  Love family time!!

Sunday 5/11/14
Happy Mother's Day!!  I got breakfast in bed and sung to this morning!  I love this tradition! Ryan and the kids gave/made me sweet cards, and Ryan got me chocolate covered strawberries, yum!! In sacrament meeting the kids sang to me and in Relief Society Lisa (Kalisha's mom) and I got to announce the engagement.  So fun!!
After church I went (by myself) to Mom's and got to talk to Elder Kurtis who called home.  So wonderful to hear his voice!!  Ryan stayed home with the kids so that we'd be able to actually hear Kurtis. And after that I got to go to Andrew's new house!  Such a wonderful and much needed great weekend! Feeling special and loved!

5/13/14
So frustrating.  Today I backed into our mailbox.  Our brick mail box.  Sigh.  I so understand now why people say driving tired is the same as driving drunk.  I was backing up and looking in my rear view mirror thinking, that's weird the mailbox is supper close but the back up beeper isn't going off. And then I just slowly kept backing up and sure enough I hit it.  It's so weird how slowly it went in my head.  I definetly need more sleep!  Going to start tonight!  Lucky for me Ryan found the parts online for really cheap beacuse we can't afford anything right now!
My lovely work

Also, I'm married to an amazing man. He didn't get mad, he just went to work fixing it.  It was wonderful because I was already pretty mad at myself!

We've been taking family walks in the evening after dinner.  Everyone really looks forward to it and we are enjoying the family time.  Tonight Brayden decided he was bringing the scooter.  He is hilarious on there.  I hope I always remember this. I just LOVE our family walks!

The Orr's live a few streets down and we LOVE their family and a lot of the time we walk by their home.  The kids ALWAYS ask to stop and say hi.  Occasionally we say yes.  This night they invited us in and we ended up hanging out for an hour or so.  Such a great family!! Logan wanted a picture with Brother Orr.  SO glad we moved into this neighborhood!

5/18/14
Brayden crashed at Grandma D's this week :)

5/24/14
Spent the day at the beach, then watched a movie and ate dinner in mom and dad's bed. Such a FUN day!!

5/26/14
Such a fun day today!! Woke up early and went to our ward 5k and breakfast this morning. My parents and sisters got to come. They rock!! We had so much fun. Then we took the kids to see the Lego Movie at the $1 theater. And tonight I met up with mom, just me and her to grocery shop and then talked in the parking lot for a good two hours  I love my mom! Perfect day, family, fun, and more family!!

5/27/14
7 more days of school!! Then baby Jayden can join us anytime, if he isn't already here by then

5/28/14
Julia came over this morning and we did each others nails. So fun! Now I can go into labor :)

5/31/14
I had such a fun night tonight!! We sang karaoke at a friends house. I spent most of the evening laughing. So needed and wonderful! Thanks Kerry Miller Tegerdine!
Ryan and I sang a duet (Earls gotta die) and Ryan sang this song.  Loved it!
