Thanksgiving!

Before I start the Thanksgiving post, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving Kaitlyn's school had a family dance! You can bet I was all over that! We had SOO much fun! The best was watching the kids dance. Logan was jumping up and down with both feet, and the girls were dancing away. Unfortunetly Logan is only 2 and has the attention span of a 2yr old. He did really well for a while, then Ryan and I had to take turns chasing him down. Cause quite frankly running is far superior to dancing according to Logan! No matter who was were Emmy was on the dance floor dancing her little heart out! I LOVED it! Even when Kaitlyn was off somewhere, Daddy was chasing down Logan, and Mommy had to sit on the sidelines to nurse Evan, Emmy was dancing away :) Love, love, LOVED it! So wish I had thought to bring a camera. Kaitlyn also had a little bit of a heartbreak. A cute little boy from her class was there. Kaitlyn spent the night chasing him down, trying to convince him to dance with her. -He, being a 4 yr old boy was much more interested in running than dancing. When it was time for him to leave Kaitlyn broke down in tears :( I don't think I'm ready for the heartbreak of boys yet! -He did come to her birthday party that weekend though. And one more thing I want to remember was Ryan. I am so lucky to have him! While all the other adults were hiding in the shadows against the walls, Ryan was out there dancing with his babies. Wonderful! I so love that man!

I quite honestly never thought we'd have family living close enough to have guests here for Thanksgiving. Well guess what! I was wrong. My mom's brother, Uncle Anthony and his wife Aunt Lynn moved to Iowa in June. Because of a sweet bundle of joy, we hadn't been over to visit them yet. I thought Thanksgiving would be the perfect opportunity. So I invited my aunt, uncle, and cousin who had recently moved to Iowa too. I can't believe that there's family out here now! So they decided to come! I have to admit I was VERY nervous. I haven't seen these family members in years, and I haven't done the whole Thanksgiving meal before. I'm glad to say everything turned out well, nothing was burned (not even the candy for the candied yams!!!) and everything tasted yummy. We had such a nice time, and it was WONDERFUL to have family here! I was also lucky enough to have one of my friends come too. Her family was out of town and she had to stay for work :( Sad for her, but fun for us!
The week of Thanksgiving included lots of shopping, cooking, and baking! Ryan was WONDERFUL! He came home early on Wednesday so he could watch the kiddos and I could get some cooking done and kept the kiddos busy Thanksgiving morning so I could finish up. Here's Wednesday's Thanksgiving prep pictures!

I made some pie's and the girls got to play with the left over pie crust. They took this "job" very seriously!

Thursday went very well. The kids loved our guests and we all had a great time. I didn't take very many pictures, but my Aunt and Uncle sent me some of the ones they took.

Eating the yummy pies -thanks Aunt Lynn for bringing the Pumpkin pie, it was supper yummy!

Aunt Lynn does some really fun art projects with her grandkids, so I thought it'd be really fun for her to bring one up for the kids to do. They loved it! Thanks Aunt Lynn!

Most of these pictures were from Aunt Lynn, so I don't have a picture of her. Thanks guys for coming. We're so glad you could come visit us!
