We left for Texas RIGHT after school on the 22nd of December and drove to Kansas City to stop for the night. We like to stop there, it's about half way and makes the trip easier.
We put the three oldest kids in the way back so there was an open seat next to Evan. That was really nice. Log loved being in the back with the big kids and it made it much easier to take care of baby Evan. Here's the kiddos scrunched into the back seat.

So we got to Texas on the 23rd. This was by far the best Christmas vacation! There wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but we all had a nice time and got to spend LOTS of time with our families. It was wonderful. I didn't want to come home :) I didn't take ANY pictures while we were gone, but Ryan did take a few. Thanks hun!

For Christmas I asked for no presents. All I wanted was a GREAT Christmas. I got that and more. I really have the best family. The one I was born into and the one I married into!
Some of the fun things we got to do:
~hang out at Aunt Mindy's and play with all the cousins
~hang out at Aunt Julia's and play with all the cousins
~Wilson girls day. I think this one is going to have to be a tradition! We went and saw Tangled with all the girls and had a blast!
~Took my girls with my mom and sisters to the American Girl Doll store. That place is CRAZY!!!
~Went to dinner with all the Dalton's
~Christmas at the Wilson's
~Christmas with the Dalton's
~And LOTS and LOTS of family time!!
Thanks for such a wonderful trip. We love visiting and it makes me wish we lived SO MUCH closer!
I'm sure there is more that we did. Mostly we just had a nice time. On the way home we had quite the adventure though!
Again we stopped in Kansas City. We checked into our hotel and got all the kids to sleep. (Not an easy feat) And aroung midnight all the lights start flashing and a voice come on the speaker system
"Atention, Attention. There has been an emergency reported please exit the building"
over and over and over
We got the kids up out of their beds threw shoes on and coats and started down the stairs. All NINE flights of them. NINE! It was an adventure to say the least. Ryan ended up carring Emily and Logan down the stairs. Em was dead on her feet and Log is still pretty young. I carried Evan and helped Kaitlyn. Down NINE flights of stairs. We went and waited outside in the van while the fire department came.
There was no fire. Not really sure what the problem was, but it was a LONG night. I don't think we were able to go back to our room tell 1:30 or 2. Still it was MUCH better than what we came home to the year before!

It looks and sounds like you had a great Christmas vacation!!
I think I might have had a heart attack if I heard an alarm go off at a hotel....Nine flights of stairs! Wow! Glad there wasn't anything wrong.
